WAVE ATTENUATOR MODEL OVERVIEW:

There are three sizes of WaveEater™ wave attenuators available:

  • Model 4870 – 48” x 69”. Incorporating our patented “waffle” design this unit provides surface wave attenuation, as well as dissipation of below surface wave energy.
  • Model 3636 – 36″ x 36″. A variety of uses including wave attenuation, erosion control and debris booms.
  • Model 1224 – 12″ x 24″. Ideal for swim area markers, aeration floats and jet ski barriers.

WaveEater’s greatest qualities:
Economical
Most breakwater systems cost $2000+ per lineal foot. WaveEater’s™ wave
attenuators use economical materials and simplicity of design to allow this
system to cost as little as $270.00 per lineal foot installed.
Strong
Molded of high-strength polyethylene, WaveEater™ is nearly indestructible.
Easy Installation – Simply set the units in place, connect the line to moorings
and fill with water to submerge the units to a depth of two-thirds their diameter. If
seasonal removal of your breakwater system is required, just haul, drain, and
store.
Safe – WaveEater™ wave attenuators come in a variety of colors to meet local
safety and environmental considerations, (see color Chart). These breakwater
systems contain no wood which rots or treated piles that leech chemicals into the
water.
Environmentally Friendly – WaveEater™ wave attenuators are clean. In the
event of a catastrophe just collect the wave attenuator units and reconnect. No
tires at the bottom of the lake, Styrofoam on the beach, or underwater obstacles
to interfere with navigation.

WaveEater Model 4870

Introduced in 2022 our new patented Model 4870 is an evolution of our successful
model 3636. The top unit is 26 inches in diameter by 48” long. Connected to the
underside is a 48” wide by 51” “waffle” which reduces the wave energy below the
surface, while still allowing for water to circulate thereby reducing algae or sediment buildup.

Materials:
Constructed from high strength molded polyethylene the units are 26” (66cm) in
diameter by 48”  (122cm) long. There is a 2” (5cm) fill hole if partial submergence is
required.
The attached “waffle” is 47” (119cm) wide by 51” (130cm) long.
Colors:
Standard colors are high visibility orange and white. Other attenuator colors are
available on request, (minimum 50 units). Refer to color palette.
Economical:
Costs are as low as $250.00 per lineal foot of wave dissipation system installed.
Configuration.
Model 4870 designs are most generally constructed in three effective dissipation
configurations; Single, Double or Three string patterns.
In deciding which attenuator system is right for you consult with factory engineering support or refer to the wave dissipation chart. Other important factors to consider are the length of the water column and lessening of water depth as the wave approaches
shore.

WaveEater Model 3636

WaveEater Model 3636 has been in use for over twenty-five (25) years. It is used in any number of applications including wave attenuation, dam protection, shore erosion control and debris booms in the US and other parts of the world.
Materials:
Constructed from high strength molded polyethylene the units are 36” (91.4cm) in
diameter by 36”  (91.4cm) long. There is a 2” (5cm) fill hole if partial submergence is required.
Colors:
Standard colors are high visibility orange and white. Other attenuator colors are
available on request, (minimum 50 units). Refer to color palette.
Economical:
Costs are as low as $160.00 per lineal foot of wave dissipation system installed.
Configuration.
WaveEater designs are most generally constructed in three effective dissipation
configurations; Straight Line, Sawtooth, or Grid patterns.
In deciding which attenuator system is right for you consult with factory engineering support or refer to the wave dissipation chart. Other important factors to consider are the length of the water column and lessening of water depth as the wave approaches shore.

WaveEater Model 1224

WaveEater Model 1224 is a premier product for use in open water swim areas and as a beach erosion mitigation system in small environmentally sensitive locations.

Many State Parks and Homeowners Associations have found the 1224 breakwater
system to be far superior to other forms of wave barriers. The size of the attenuators
allows them to be seen from much further away, and the option of submerging them partially to create some wave attenuation is a benefit to the area users.

Due to our manufacturing process of molded polyethylene and UV inhibitors, these
wave attenuators have a far longer life span than other products currently on the
market.

Since 1995 there have been wave barrier systems in place with no required
replacement parts due to material degradation.

Materials:
Constructed from high strength molded polyethylene the wave attenuators are 12” in diameter by 24” long. There is a ¾” fill hole if partial submergence is required.
Colors:
Standard colors are high visibility orange and white. Other colors are available on
request, (minimum 50 units).
Economical:
Costs are less than $80.00 per lineal foot of barrier system materials delivered.
