Straight line
For short waves under 2 feet. Also used as a spillway barrier, for shoreline erosion and on temporary construction jobs.
- Units per 100 ft33
- AnchoringAt the ends
- Material costFrom $160 per foot
-
Sawtooth
The most popular layout. More surface and more angles for the wave to pass through, so it takes out much more energy than a straight line.
- Units per 100 ft47
- AnchoringOne anchor at every point

Double string
For larger waves. Each unit carries a sub-wall that reaches 48 inches below the surface, where the wave energy a surface float misses is.
- Units per 100 ft40
- AnchoringFour 1,500 lb anchors per 50 ft
- Material costAbout $350 per foot
-
Three string
The most efficient system. Longer waves need more mass in their path: the obstacle has to be larger than the wave.
- Units per 100 ft48 of the 4870, 30 of the 3636
- AnchoringAs the double string
- Material costAbout $510 per foot
